Explore the cosmos in this intricate, layered geometric pendant that speaks of faraway galaxies. This tactile design incorporates Swarovski crystals, Czech two-hole Triangle or SuperDuo beads, drop beads, and Japanese seed beads into this self-supporting, reversible beaded pendant. String the pendant on a chain, cord, or silk ribbon for an elegant touch to any ensemble.
This complex design is actually easier to construct than it may appear, however interested students should be familiar with the right angle weave technique before attempting this project. Students will utilize an unusual variation of this stitch along with a variation on the circular peyote stitch to weave two-hole beads and seed beads onto a base of crystals. Additional variations on this design will also be discussed, including how to create coordinating beaded beads from precursors of this design.
Prerequisites: Proficiency in the right angle weave technique, and comfort with working with size 15° seed beads.
